There first stage of engagement relied upon pop-up/pop-in attendance, which also fulfilled a consciousness-raising role within the department in terms of introducing people to creative activities within their everyday clinical settings…

The second stage of workshops were more focused, with invited individuals forming small groups. Participants have been pointed towards these activities by Occupational Therapists within the departments at both locations. These sessions have allowed for quieter, less exposed, creative play as they were held within rooms away from the busy thoroughfares. It also meant that service users could work in a one-to-one way if they felt that group settings could potentially be overwhelming…
